What is Trauma Care?
Trauma care involves providing medical attention to individuals who have suffered severe injuries in either intentional or accidental incidents. This form of care encompasses the stabilisation of patients, preventing additional harm, and facilitating the healing process. It relies on an integrated approach, with a collaborative team of emergency specialists, surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals working together to address the complexities of trauma cases.
What necessitates the need for trauma care?
At our Hospitality Lodges we step in after acute care has been administered and our proficient team specialises in the aftercare, addressing various situations, with qualified medical professionals, including:
- Rehabilitation from vehicular incidents, encompassing motor vehicle accidents, bike accidents, cycling mishaps, and general pedestrian accidents.
- Recovery from burns or traumatic injuries arising from both natural and man-made disasters.
- Rehabilitation from violent episodes, whether stemming from domestic violence, crime, or combat.
- Recuperation from surgeries, which may induce trauma to the body due to complications from illnesses.
- Healing from injuries sustained in extreme sports or accidental falls leading to a loss of mobility.
- Our committed team collaborates with experienced medical practitioners, offering physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and emotional support to our guests.
- Immediate assistance for individuals requiring recovery from medical evacuations.
- Aid with daily activities, including medicine management, pain relief, and more.
Our Approach
At our Hospitality Lodges we meticulously design an individualised recovery plan for each guest with trained medical professionals, creating an environment where individuals can heal both physically and emotionally from the trauma they have endured. We aim to familiarise ourselves with your unique needs and preferences before trauma care, guiding you through the entire road to recovery.
Upon discharge from the hospital, you join us, and we assist in settling you into your room while understanding your requirements to ensure a sense of control and ease in your recovery process.
Recognising that many of our patients come from other countries, far from home, we connect them with therapists, translators, and specialist caregivers. Once settled, our experienced team attends to vital checks, schedules treatments, and meets ablution requirements. Importantly, we prioritise treating you with kindness, dignity, and compassion, acknowledging that genuine recovery encompasses not only the physical but also the emotional, spiritual, and psychological aspects. We gladly arrange services such as physiotherapy, OT, and wound care amongst others.
In terms of nutrition, we ensure fluid intake and offer excellent meals tailored to inspire energy and cater to dietary requirements. Every guest has a readily available call button for 24/7 assistance, aiming to eliminate anxiousness and ensure you never feel alone or vulnerable. We have witnessed first-hand that a sense of safety, love, and control significantly enhances the recovery process. With no restrictive visiting hours or schedules, you have the autonomy to shape your recovery experience according to your needs and preferences.
